Pass it on!

I’ve been listening to Story of the Year‘s latest album, “The Constant,” for the past week. They’ve made it accessible through their Myspace for the last week or so.

Now, it’s officially out.

I won’t lie. I really dig it.

Other than upcoming shows and links to our other online pages, we don’t have lots of content (yet).

I’d like for us to post creative stuff (e.g. short videos, random artwork) to fill in gaps between the shows. Without that, it feels pointless to spend time or money¹ on a Flash intro page or website.

I could just make a simple intro page with a random image script. But, I think an intro page is a waste — it’s one extra click.

Ultimately, we (the band) need to talk about what we want on the website. But, I’d like to bring data to the guys — and that’s where you can help:

Update 9/20/2009 — Ugly Ape will be playing the last set for the night. Nice.

I first heard Anberlin years ago when attending a Finch concert. (Or was it Story of the Year?)

Lagwagon, Weezer, Blink 182, Thrice, Glassjaw…all through friends.

Lastly, I think I heard Norma Jean and Haste The Day through Pandora Radio.

So, why do I want to know how you find new music to listen to?

I’m in a band (The Scarlet Paradigm) and we’d like more exposure. I know it’s not clear cut and simple. But, it’ll help us figure out what to focus on when we talk about our future as a band.

Other than the posts you’ve seen about my taking photos at a few concerts, I photographed an event for Dennis Carpenter, took corporate headshots for the directing attorneys at work¹, and went on the Worldwide photowalk at Venice Beach.

Until the fall semester starts for me on September 1^st, I’m just working, relaxing, and hopefully going on some random photowalks sprinkled with a few concerts. Photo passes, please?

As for The Scarlet Paradigm, we’ve got a show tomorrow night in Montrose. It’ll be Bill’s birthday and we’ll be playing two new songs in our set. “Great, grand treat of the day!”²
