Health

I have bad ankles

I broke my right ankle in high school and my left one has no excuse other than trying to fit in.
My left one is being a pain right now. I honestly don’t know what happened.
If you’re a good storyteller, can you give me one or two awesome stories in the comments? (Rated PG, preferred.)

Ankle tendon inflamed again

I felt something wrong yesterday morning. By lunch, I was certain my ankle was acting up again.
Almost one year ago, I had an inflamed tendon in my right ankle. From what I remember, the solution was to get SuperFeet insoles to correct my feet and to prevent the injury from reoccurring. Here it is again, [...]

Help Organs ‘R’ Us at The Relay

One of my co-workers, Greg, sent this email to all the staff here at Public Counsel. I should have posted this right after I received it 12 days ago:
As some of you know, when I am not working in HPLP I do quite a lot of running. I am the captain of a team that [...]

Wrist sprained

Last Friday, I woke up and my wrist was slightly bothering me. As the day progressed, it got worse. It hurts to lift my wrist up. I wrapped it so it’d have more support, and I’ve been icing it when I can.

I must’ve slept on it wrong, huh? Depressing. My ankle was messed up two [...]

The start of a healthier Bryan

On Tuesday, I made the decision to start working out. Tonight, on the way back from a meeting, I asked Andy about the diet aspect of it. I’m going to do what he’s been doing for years.
Diet
Eat six meals a day, 2-3 of which are a protein drink/shake. Definitely one shake 30 minutes after a [...]

Save your hearing

The TV was on, and ABC 7 news preview came up for 11am, talking about how headsets and earbuds might aid in hearing loss. Quickly I did a search and found an article from the Dayton Daily News, “Hearing loss sped by use of headsets.”
One sign that you’ve done damage to your ears is when [...]

Grilling is bad?

To grill or not to grill? (Golf clap: Donncha O’Caoimh, a.k.a. Holy Shmoly)

Save my ears

Note to self: Buy more Hearos hearing protection. I’ve been playing loudly with friends in a garage almost every Sunday from 1-3 hours, and we don’t want to damage our eardrums anymore.

Thumbs are for grasping

Seriously, if you think about it the thumb allows us to grasp things. The muscles never evolved for fine motor dexterity.
I never thought about thumbs in this way. Makes me think about all that gaming I used to do when I played on my Nintendo and Super Nintendo. And what about text messaging? I don’t [...]

Drinking tea, day 4

After some inspiration (or fright), I’ve been drinking tea for the past four days. How am I liking it? After the first two times of weirdness, with the help of my friend Pete, I should probably add sugar or honey to it. I felt dumb ordering tea for the first time at Starbucks, but now [...]
