Greasemonkey

Ignore and Block All Facebook Apps

I’m annoyed with all those Facebook applications. I barely have any in my profile because I’ve been ignoring all requests by hand. Not anymore.

Option 1: Ignore All Facebook Requests bookmarklet (Internet Explorer/Firefox)

Option 2: Block ALL Facebook Application (Greasemonkey Script for Firefox)

It’s still a toss up for me. I’m trying to figure out if I should keep my Facebook account. (Well, if it can truly be deleted is another issue.) For now, I will.

TinyURL Popup Preview

Since I communicate with Twitter, TinyURL is the standard service used for sharing shortened links with others. (I use Tweetl, though, but that’s another story.)

If you get the TinyURL Popup Preview Greasemonkey Script, you won’t get surprised when you click on a link. (via LifeSpy)

I wish there were more services supported, but this is a nice start.

Bloglines Subscribe with Greasemonkey

Userscripts.org is a nice site for Greasemonkey scripts. I’m stoked because a script has made it easier for me to subscribe to Bloglines when a site has syndication feeds. (Golf clap: Kapil’s Korner)

Tiger, a slick WP admin theme

Update: B. Adam Howell made a Greasemonkey script to make the WP backend look like Tiger - without touching the core files! I’ll put the original files back into place when I get home and see how things look.

Didn’t I install Randy Walker’s WP admin theme the other day? In any case, I’m really into Tiger right now, despite being a few hours “old”. Here’s some issues:

  • Some text fields are too wide, particularly Post Tags
  • Categories listing isn’t in a scrolling box, so you can imagine the list displayed in the archives

I’m not complaining - it’s amazing! Thanks for pointing this out, James!

Oh yeah, this is my 500th post! Granted they’re not all full-fledged posts, but if Dashboard says it is, then I’ll celebrate…by getting ready for bed.

Greasemonkey is awesome!

One reason why I’ve installed the Greasemonkey extension? Friends’ Xanga blogs. There’s some good lookin’ Gmail scripts, too. Of course, I’m going to drop Gmail soon, but if you’re not, you might as well check those out. It’s all simple, trust me.
