Freeware
After eight months, I’ve finally updated my recommended software list. It’s bumped up to 33 applications, tools, and programs. All of ‘em are still for Windows XP.
So I can get a good start to my day, I’m trying to wake up earlier. My wake up call? Citrus Alarm Clock. (It hasn’t been updated in awhile, but it still works well — as long as you set Windows Media Player to the default player for MP3s and playlist files. It’s not compatible [...]
I just finished putting together a list of 25 apps/tools/programs I use for Windows XP. At the moment, all are freeware or open source. Check it out!
Like I was saying a few days ago, I’m probably going to be purchasing a new HD. Well, I’m loving Karen’s Replicator! Before, I plugged my laptop into my router. This time, I’m trying it out wirelessly. 802.11b, baby! The sync took 28 minutes this time around, but only because I had a few torrents [...]
I’m fascinated with Autostitch now. Utterly fascinated. I’m seeing some amazing panoramic photos. My Canon Powershot A40 came with some software, but I think it pales in comparison with this one. (Golf clap: Donncha)
Josh customized his Windows XP system to look more like a Mac. From the programs he listed, one of them was WinRoll, which allows you to roll a window into its title bar. Also, you can minimize a program into the system tray. Now that’s awesome! It’s barely taking up any memory (144 K), and [...]
novaPDF came up in my news reader. It’s free, but there’s a notice at the bottom. Please don’t pay $19.95 before you try PDFCreator: it’s truly free and open source. It’s been great!
If Wink is a good screen recorder, I’m sure people would want to make use of it. My mind is racing now. At work, it’d be something like “Hey Bryan, How do I…oh, cool!” I can’t believe it’s free! I’ll try it out someday, but I’m hoping anyone that’s reading this will do it. (Golf [...]
Desktop Ruler was mentioned today by Steve Bass. The snipped URL didn’t work, so I hope the direct link to the website is the correct one. I just realized what you could use it for. If you have a wide screen, and the text travels the length of it, it’s hard to keep track which [...]
I posted links to guides on how to create a life poster with iPhoto and Photoshop. I don’t have a Mac or Photoshop, so I couldn’t do it. I’m an idiot because Lifehacker linked to a guide that does the job with XnView - four months ago!
