I’m glad I’m improving

I’m so stoked that Brian Auer (F/B/T) included me in the honorable mention list in his post, “Five More Fantastic Flickr Photographers“.

Despite my lack of a DSLR camera over eight months ago, I’m glad I went to the Santa Monica photowalk in August 2007 and met him.¹ He’s been a great friend and huge influence² in my photography.

Hey man, thanks right back at ya! I’ve really enjoyed seeing your photography evolve, and I’m super-stoked to have you as part of the community.

When are we gonna go walk again? I’m feeling the need to head north and visit some beach towns outside of SD.

I’d be down for either this weekend or the weekend of August 16th. (I’m going to Vegas again next weekend for a friend’s birthday.) I’ve got more free weekends after that, of course.

P.S. If you want, I’ll meet you somewhere in between LA and SD. Either way, I’m down.

Wow, that photowalk from Santa Monica is like the pictures I would take. If I keep up, I might do as well. I just feel so hassled lugging around a camera with me all day. Wish we could have something where it compacts it to the size of a phone then uncompacts it when I need it

hmmm… There’s Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Sunset Beach, Long Beach, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Malibu Beach, etc. Unless you don’t want to do a beach town. We could go inland too, but I was just thinking about getting some more material for my “beach town culture” documentary project.

you should really write a post about jumping in pre-DSLR. I think a lot of people stand off and don’t get involved in the art side of photography because they feel limited by their camera.
