Jackie Cowell goes to PCC and is a barista at Starbucks.

She liked the photos I uploaded from our SMCC Clusters Christmas Party, so I thought I’d ask her if I could take her portrait for today’s December Challenge (Flickr photoset).

Fortunately, she obliged.

Kevinz Carpio is a Senior at Rio Hondo Prep High School. I coached him at Kare Youth League when he was in 5^th grade.

Time flies, right?

Yesterday, we watched UFC 79 at Jay’s house. He was there, too, so I was able to hang out with him…in addition to the 19 other friends there.

Alex Orsburn works at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, posts at Twitter, is an Apple fanboy, and sometimes posts on Flickr.

I know him because we both went to Rio Hondo Prep, even though I was a Senior when he was a Freshman.

This was fun because I felt more comfortable with the others than ever before. It helped that I printed ID badges, stuck one on myself, then gave out the rest. I felt wacky. It was my birthday and I’ve been stoked about this ever since it was posted.

It was rough because it was dark earlier than we’d like. However, I think Thomas planned this because he wanted neon photos.

At one point, Trevor had a short talk with me. “It’s time to upgrade to a DSLR camera.” It’s not like I don’t want one! Money is in shortage, that’s all.

The photowalkers were going to Pig’n Whistle around 6:30pm, but I had to take off with James, Jean and Pete because we had my birthday dinner scheduled from 7:30pm back in Pasadena.

I felt bad because I wanted to stick around, but I had to ditch them.

Alexandria “Alex” Alonzo is a student at CSULA. I don’t know much else about her because this was the first time I met her.

I primarily took almost 200 photos of her for my friends at Respond Clothing to showcase their girl tees. It was a cinch. All of them turned out very well, so it was tough for Jordan and Andrew to pick the ones that’d be best for their website. I didn’t choose the same ones that they picked, because the main goal is to showcase the design of their tees.

I also got her permission to let me use some of her photos for today’s portrait in the December Challenge. Very cool.

Here’s a few more:

We borrowed a Canon EOS 6.3MP Digital Rebel from a friend. I chose her Canon 75-300mm lens, rather than the 18-55mm lens.

Kyle Corral works at Pearl Prep and is a coach at Kare Youth League.

I think he always poses whenever I’m about to take a photo. Or, he hides from me.

James Umemura is a student at UC Santa Barbara. We don’t see him too often now that he’s moved to Santa Barbara.

As you can see, he’s eccentric.

Yesterday was my birthday and I didn’t go online all day. I received some email, Facebook comments and a few Myspace comments.

For all those that wished me a happy birthday - thank you!

What did I do?

• Woke up and talked on the phone for almost an hour and a half
• James needed me to bring his spare car key to Guitar Center in Covina because he locked his keys in the car. A.J. wasn’t answering his phone. When I got to his house to pick up the key, the doors were locked. I called A.J. again and he finally answered - he was just sleeping. He took the spare key to James.
• I returned a 1GB SanDisk SD card to Wal-Mart because it cost $18.88. I went to PC Club because they had a 2GB Transcend SD card for $26.99. I finally have a backup memory card for photowalking!
• I picked up prints at Target of my name badge for the photowalk. The URLs at bottom was cropped, though.
• I went to Hollywood with James and Jean for the photowalk. Pete drove separately because he was running late.
• We took photos around Hollywood for about two hours. Then, the other photowalkers wanted to chill at the Pig’n Whistle. We had to take off because we had other plans.
• We drove back to Pasadena (Hastings Ranch) for dinner at Ichima Sushi. There were 13 of us - nice turnout!
• Pete, James, Jean and I went to AMC Santa Anita to watch “I Am Legend.” I liked it - very intense.

Thanks to James for driving to Hollywood and Pasadena, Pete for being a good sport by driving to Hollywood by himself, the photowalkers, Andy for spreading the word about dinner tonight, and all who came dinner. I had a good time!
