All Narfed Up words and photography by Bryan Villarin

Perfection is bland

How many bars?

Friend: Frustrated with myself – again. Constantly screwing up. Why can’t I just be perfect?

Me: If you were perfect, your life would be a bore.

We need challenge. Without challenge, there isn’t accomplishment. Life would be tedious. A chore rather than an adventure.

When I look at photography, a lot of times it’s the imperfections that make a photo look stunning.

Similarly, if someone is too perfect, they’re not as interesting. Think of celebrities – they mess up, and they’re in the spotlight. So many people follow them, watch them, and idolize them. It’s because they’re not perfect that they’re loved.

God, thank you for spices.
