In Bloglines, I currently have the following folders:
- Comics
- Hot Deals
- Miscellaneous
- Music – mainly CD releases
- Personal – friends, blogs that cover scattered topics
- Productivity
- Scrutinizing – feeds I’ve recently subscribed to; in a few weeks, I’ll either move them to another folder or unsubscribe entirely
- Software
- Tech
Questions
- How do you organize your feeds?
- How do you read them efficiently?
- How can you improve this system?
- Are there any articles you’ve read that offer insight?
I almost exclusively use Netvibes. After jumping around from Protopages to Live.com to Google’s personalized home page, I settled on Netvibes. I typically split up my feeds into three pages, one for news/business, one for tech stuff, and another for blogs I enjoy reading. I don’t usually use the built-in RSS reader as I prefer to see the content in its native format, at the website. So I’ll go around and pick out the topics that look interesting and click through to the site.
I blast through probably 50 articles a day on average and it seems like a pretty efficient system to me.
