The start of a healthier Bryan

On Tuesday, I made the decision to start working out. Tonight, on the way back from a meeting, I asked Andy about the diet aspect of it. I’m going to do what he’s been doing for years.
Diet
Eat six meals a day, 2-3 of which are a protein drink/shake. Definitely one shake 30 minutes after a [...]

Review: Borders Bucks, sweet - NOT

I just got an email from Borders Rewards about earning Borders Bucks, which starts on April 12th (emphasis is mine):
We’ve simplified your Borders Rewards membership. Now, for every $150 you spend on qualifying purchases at Borders, Borders Express, or Waldenbooks in a calendar year, you’ll earn $5 in Borders Bucks, issued the first week of [...]

Review: AeroPress Coffee & Expresso Maker

I bought an AeroPress because:

I want to save money by not buying Starbucks on a regular basis.
I want to save time.
I want to cut down on the sugar and calorie intake that comes from buying a tall or grande non-fat no whip mocha in the mornings.
Smooth brew, no bitterness and extremely low acidity.
You can store [...]

How to save audio files if linked to directly

Dave Seah linked to a SXSW panel (via Twitter), discussing “How to make your lame podcast listenable“. Problem? It goes directly to an MP3 file, so you can only listen to it within the browser and QuickTime. Not quite.
Solution: [Firefox] Go to File > Save Page As. Save that file wherever you’d like, and you’re [...]

Fantasy Sports questions for podcast #3?

I’m sorry for the delay with the podcasts, but don’t fret! I’m scheduled to interview Chris Coulter this Thursday at 2pm. (I’d do it sooner, but I have an essay due that morning.)
By the way, this is not the Chris Coulter that was made popular by Robert Scoble, it’s another Chris Coulter.
Two of his specialties [...]

How to empty your brain on the road

I love my iRiver iFP-899. I love how I can record lectures, take ‘em home, speed ‘em up in Audacity, then listen to them at a later date to review.
I can take this further by using it whenever I can’t write! You don’t even know the freedom you’ll feel when you’re allowed to ramble aimlessly. [...]

Frustrated with calendaring

I’m torn right now when it comes to calendaring. I’ve been using my Palm Tungsten E for a couple years, and I still love how quick and simple it is to navigate. When it comes to Google Calendar and 30 Boxes, two major web calendar applications, I’m not sure which one I can easily convert [...]

How I keep track of photos to upload

Background: I sort my photos on my hard drive by date. Pictures\yyyy\yyyy-mm-dd\*.jpg. I don’t tag them or label them. If I ever look at my photos, I do that at Flickr.
Disclaimer: This is a incredibly small “hack”. It probably won’t blow your mind, but it’s one less thing to think about.
If I’m a few days [...]

Armor for Sleep, Underoath, and Taking Back Sunday

I’m going to see Armor for Sleep, Underoath, and Taking Back Sunday. Tonight. With Mystery James. Orange Pavilion, San Bernardino. Photos to come if I get close enough.
