All Narfed Up photography and words by Bryan Villarin

FeedBurner plugin installed

I’ve finally setup FeedBurner here utilizing the FeedBurner plugin. If you want, please change the main feed URL to:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/AllNarfedUp

For comments:

The old feed still works, but can anyone tell me the .htaccess code to redirect the old feed? Thanks! (And thanks to Steve Smith!)

Although I could be drastically mistaken, my understanding of Steve’s info was that there was no longer a requirement to update anything in the .htaccess file:

This version handles the redirection in a completely different way. There is no longer a requirement for .htaccess, so it will work with any permalinks structure on any platform, Windows included. Not only that, this one version is compatible with WordPress versions 2 and 1.5. In other words, it should work for pretty much everyone.

And in my rush to click submit, I failed to tell you that I switched it on yesterday. Although it’s too early to tell if I have made any improvements for anyone visiting, I do find it cool that I know of at least 3 (such a big number, eh?) that do have my site clocked in a feed reader of some sort.

It’ll work for almost anyone - using the default WordPress feed. I changed mine to be like Matt’s feeds, so that no longer applied to me.

My feed was:

http://xml.btvillarin.com/feed/

That one doesn’t redirect to FeedBurner.

Hope that clears it up! :)

I never said I was a smart one. :)

Try adding this line to a .htaccess file under your xml.btvillarin.com sub-domain:

Redirect permanent /feed/ http://feeds.feedburner.com/AllNarfedUp

Thanks James, I think that works!

I’m not sure why it’s not working right now, so I disabled that redirect. This doesn’t make sense…
