ZipTorrent weirdness

Why do downloads reappear after I’ve deleted them already? Their torrent file is gone, and I’m not seeding them anymore. Answer: The torrents are kept in C:\Program Files\ZipTorrent\torrents

Google personalized homepage broke?

What you see in the picture happens periodically in my browser (more often than not). I’m using Firefox 1.0.7. What’s up with this? Update: Firefox 1.5 seems to have fixed this. Cool!

The Poor Man’s Tivo

The Poor Man’s Tivo: BitTorrent. I wrote about BT back in May, but I’m just reiterating how cool it is. I don’t know who records the few TV shows I’ve been getting, either. I believe they’re in HDTV, but they’re without commercials and basically flawless. Thank you.

For the record, I’m using ZipTorrent now. It’s light-weight, too. I think Podz told me about it. Good stuff. Edit: Yup, it was Podz (not directly to me, just in general).

Free WiFi at Arcadia Public Library

Whoa, I just found out that the Arcadia Public Library has free WiFi. I don’t know how long they’ve had it there, but it doesn’t matter - that’s awesome! (see the “What’s New at the Library” section)

ScanR document orientation

If you’re using your cameraphone to scan documents (to send to ScanR), turn the letter-sized paper 90 degrees counterclockwise.

USB stick for news aggregator only

I think I’m convinced that I’m going to get a USB flash drive dedicated for a news reader. I’ve been using RSS Bandit, but at work, it’s still a bit slow because of the connection speed. Do any of you do something similar, or just use an online service? I’ve been trying Gregarius 0.5.2, but it just doesn’t do it for me. When I use my laptop, and I don’t have internet access, I’d like to be able to go thru my feeds offline easily.

Oh yeah, I know about the list of news aggregators at the Wikipedia, but that list is huge! :D

Wordpress.com Open

Matt, Donncha, and whoever else that’s behind WordPress.com is now open for signups without needing an invite or using Flock. Very sweet. If you don’t have one, and you’ve been wanting to blog without setting up your own host, this is a good one to use. :)

I love Streetcards

Hugh MacLeod Streetcards are awesome! I haven’t written about them before, so here it is. If you wanna get me something for my birthday coming up after Christmas (or just because), I would love to get a lot of these for business/blog cards - there’s gift vouchers available! I’m out of business cards, and the current design is lame anyway.

Huge PHP email form needed

I need to create a form nearly identical to this [link removed], but more secure and with PHP. I’m using an online contact form generator, but it’s very basic (and doesn’t include dropbox boxes). I’ve been working very slowly, using the basic fields available and adding more manually within Dreamweaver MX. I lack PHP knowledge, so I’m copying and pasting, making sure the fields I add match up everywhere across the files.

If you can help me out, I’d really appreciate it! This might be a driving factor to get me to learn some HTML, CSS, and PHP.

Update: Thanks to Eric for basically doing the chore for me. You rock, man!

WinPatrol

I was sifting thru some unread email newsletters, and came across WinPatrol (via Steve Bass). Looks pretty cool, and I think should compliment the other major anti-spyware utilities (e.g. Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware SE Personal, MS AntiSpyware).
