WinRoll 2.0

Josh customized his Windows XP system to look more like a Mac. From the programs he listed, one of them was WinRoll, which allows you to roll a window into its title bar. Also, you can minimize a program into the system tray. Now that’s awesome! It’s barely taking up any memory (144 K), and has been very stable. I’ll keep quite a few things in my system tray now, that’s for sure. (Thanks Josh!)

Ewww….make Windows look like the Mac OS? If you are a true PC user, why would you ever want to do that?

:throws up:

I’ve done that by accident multiple times and it really annoyed the … out of me…

Done what by accident?

Made them compact like that.

Yeah…isn’t that what the Windows taskbar is for? Kind of reminds me of those people who keep 500 icons on their desktop. How does that improve usibility?

Well, I guess for me, I want Palm Desktop running but not cluttering my taskbar, so that goes in the system tray. My away message in Gaim can also be minimized in my system tray as well. Firefox can also stay running, but I can be hidden as well, ready at a moment’s notice. I dunno, should I just open and close all those programs when not at use? *shrug*

I’m definitely not one to keep my desktop covered in shortcuts - it’s on the start menu anyways.
