I came across this InformationWeek article “Symantec: Zotob May Be Modified To Attack Windows XP” today. Basically, Symantec recommends you apply this patch. No, I haven’t tried Google Talk yet. I did read Chris Pirillo’s commentary about IM clients, though, and I have to agree.
I use Gaim to connect to AIM, Yahoo, MSN, and Jabber servers. Oh yeah, I’m glad I can add Google to that list. Riiight.

Other than Windows, how do you check for updates for your installed programs? I can think of two ways: mailing lists and syndication (RSS) feeds. I wish SourceForge had RSS feeds for the files section for the different software projects. In any case, are there better ways I haven’t learned about?
