I’ve installed Andrew’s AJAX Shoutbox plugin “Wordspew” on my band’s private site so we can chat in realtime without using full-fledged posts and comments. Version 1.0 RC2 seems to work just fine, too. I’m not going to touch anything with it now, and I’m stoked that it looks fine with Kubrick.
I’ll need to look and see if I should implement it on a my main site. How much will it take to overload the server? *shrug*
(Edit: Too many questions I can’t answer. Stop asking me.) If you have your phone number set to block caller ID all the time (like *67), what’s the code to unblock it on a call-by-call basis? I wanted to ask my friend if they can press that code for me. Thanks.

If you’re going to use the alarm feature on your PDA:
I loved this conversation I had today! I won’t say anything further, in hopes you all understand what I mean:
Bryan: I wish everybody actually used hypertext rather than just using “here” and “click here” to link to different pages
Matt: i learned it from you
Bryan: Wow, thanks!
Matt: no, i’m serious
Matt: it makes a LOT more sense
Matt: to quote words instead of heres
Matt: my gosh
Matt: lol
Speaking of being nice to web developers, I came across these two pages:
They show how the fonts look, so you don’t have to try and find them yourself. Alternatively, you can type their name into Identifont to display them. It’s probably in your best interest to choose fonts that are on at least both of these pages when modifying your website, so all your visitors can view your website just like you intended.
If you’re not running a website yourself, and you have someone else on staff doing it, please proofread a thousand times before you send them some text you want published on a new page. Sure, it’ll take a few more days to get it out there. But, do you really want to send your web developer twenty emails asking to change a little here, a little there? (more…)
The “complete freeware collection” is a collection of hand-chosen free and open source applications, which when combined, make the complete freeware package. In other words, all you need is the operating system and you won’t have to spend one cent on software. Nothing in this software bundle contains spyware or adware.
There’s a few programs that I do use that aren’t mentioned, but a lot of programs I haven’t heard of before, so I’ll be checking those out in my next Windows clean install which I need to do very soon. (Golf clap: Forever Geek)
