Blogroll broke?

I’m…angry! I’m like a tornado of anger, swirling about!” (Classic Will Ferrell.) Anyway, my blogroll isn’t working. What’s going on around here? Am I alone on this one? Ay yi yi…

It looks like that old issue with automatically pinging pingomatic has popped up again.

On second thought, it looks like Pingomatic is down again.

For now, just ping this list rather than pingomatic:

It’s not me, I think, but rather other people’s links in my blogroll not showing as updated. I don’t know, I’m confused.

You’re right, sorry for not explaining. WP’s link update function (which I assume you’re using for your blogroll) works off of pingomatic. As soon as a blog pings pingomatic, your blog sees it and bumps the link up to the top of the list. Without pingomatic, it ceases to function. So, you are correct, the problem is technically not on your end. The problem is pingomatic’s fault (for being offline), WordPress’ fault (for looking only to pingomatic for link updates), and technically the other blog authors’ faults (for attempting to ping only pingomatic).

Okay, that makes sense now. I’ll just make the blogroll on the front page randomized for now, until Ping-O-Matic comes back. Thanks James. :)
