Ordered an EZ-Lap

I ordered an EZ-Lap tonight, thanks to Fred Langa’s recommendation. He wrote about it before, but I’ve just been putting it off. Tonight, I finally got fed up with the heat associated with my laptop usage. When it comes in, I’ll write about it some more.

Am I being blocked?

I can’t get to the ProBlogger site. Am I alone? Google was able to cache it just fine today. So, what’s the matter with me? I don’t know, but I haven’t been able to get to it for a couple days now. Update: Thanks Adam for the quick reply. Since I have a dynamic IP ADSL account, I switched my IP address. I contacted Darren about the other IP address that was banned, in hopes that he could look into it. Update 2: Darren doesn’t know what happened. He didn’t ban my IP address, because he rarely does. Weird.

Trying Referrer Karma

I’m trying Referrer Karma for WordPress. (It’s not a plugin, and it’s not dependant on WordPress.) Why? I don’t want to get taken down. I’m keeping a close eye on my Referral Karma logs, in case a friendly domain or IP gets banned.

WordPress 1.5 Themes Competition

Alex King had a competition for themes when WordPress 1.2 came out - and now he’s doing the same with the release of WordPress 1.5. You can find more information at The WordPress 1.5 Themes Competition Blog. If I knew how to design something myself from scratch, I would. Best of luck to everyone that does try to submit a theme or two! The theme repository needs to grow.

I like food

I was at L&L Hawaiian BBQ a few days ago with my friend. They’re awesome! A few bites into our food, and he was like, “I like food. I like feeling hungry - I hope there’s food in heaven.” *LoL*

Watch yourself

After reading Gary’s post today and focusing on his last paragraph, I hope I don’t fall under one of those categories. I don’t want to be boring, and I don’t want to be repetitive. If I ever ask you if you like my site, snap at me so I regain composure. I’ll know if you like my site! I can see the stats and the amount of visitors growing since I first started. I totally needed to read that post today - it’s a nice reminder of what not to do. I certainly hope I don’t get removed from someone’s blogroll or newsreader because I’ve gotten too dull.

Root’s back!

I didn’t know Root too well when he was around. He did make some widely used WordPress templates, then for most people, he’s seemed to have disappeared. But now, he is back! podz and cjp definitely love his templates, and I’m not sure who else.

Finally unhectic

I’m finally finished for the rest of the day! I coached this morning, where the kindergarten boys started baseball. Tough crowd today, with a really short attention span. I couldn’t help but laugh. I basically had an hour break because Sportline wasn’t as busy as I thought.

At noon, we had our boys awards. It went through smoothly, so I’m pretty satisfied. However, we setup for 160 people and only 51 people paid. It seemed like everyone was eating too, but I might be mistaken. I wasn’t writing down names or anything, but I think next time we do something like this, I’ll make sure we get some tickets or something to help keep track. On a funny note, my friend Brad made the sandwich on the right to eat after everyone left, and one of the leaders said “Man, you have to be able to close it!”

I’ll look through my feeds and pick a couple to write/comment on before I go about this PC I need to build for a customer.

WordPress 1.5 Admin CSS mods

This is an update to a previous post.

Not settled in at work

I underestimated the task I have at work. My office/computer storage area isn’t anywhere near organized, and the other offices just got finished getting plugged in on Wednesday. The clerk office had to get computers installed today, and we didn’t even have the enough. We needed eight, and I could only setup six. I don’t know what else I’ll need to do when I go back on Monday, but hopefully I can start to put things away in my office. I hate the clutter, and I’d really like to be able to go online at work (which I haven’t the past two weeks because of the move). Oh yeah, the office manager was really getting angry - the stress was eating at her, and I guess I can’t blame her. I just hope she didn’t take it out on everybody else.

My iPod definitely kept me going this morning, plus I’m still the new guy so everyone’s been really nice to me. I’m sure it’ll stay that way once we’re settled back in.
