Miscellaneous linkage

I had a few things saved in QuickNote, so I just decided to dump them here…

Word Count Firefox Extension

Will count the number of words in any text that is selected. Simply highlight the text, right-click, and select “Word Count”. A pop-up window will show you how many words are in that selection.

BugMeNot.com

BugMeNot.com was created as a mechanism to quickly bypass the login of web sites that require compulsory registration and/or the collection of personal/demographic information (such as the New York Times)

ScrapBook Firefox Extension

Save web pages and easily manage collections. Major features are:

  • Save Web page
  • Save snippet of Web page
  • Save Web page including linked files
  • Organize the collection in the same way as Bookmarks tree
  • Full text search and quick filtering search of the collection
  • Simple Editing of the collected Web page

I’m not using this extension right now because - I don’t know if it’d benefit me too much. In any case, maybe someone can tell me why I’d love it after you try it out? ;)

RunPHP WordPress Plugin

Run PHP code from your WordPress posts. Drop PHP code into your posts, even mixed with regular HTML, and have it eval()’d at run-time. Works for both PHP 1.2 and 1.3 alpha.

I’m definitely considering using this for the couple of static pages I have, like my links and archive pages, so WordPress can manage those as well. Right now, they’re separate static files.

I have been using BugMeNot for a while not. Not all that often, but when I do it comes quite in handy.
