All about today
The excerpt has nothing to do with what happened today, but it’s what came out. Note: This entry is a bit more personal at first, then some Firefox stuff afterwards. I’m sure you don’t mind.
Jordan and I bought a Spiderman Triple Action Web Blaster for a 5-year old’s birthday today (happy birthday, Lance). We weren’t thinking, we just wnated to get hime something. After now seeing the first review on the site, I’m really hoping it doesn’t break so easily. Their party was really nice, and he’s a pretty cute kid.
Tonight, a bunch of a friends and I wanted to watch a movie. “Elf” came up because Will Ferrell was hilarious in that one. It was out practically a year ago, so we figured it had to be out. We got denied. Watching TV now, it turns out it’s going to come on this Tuesday.
Firefox Stuff
On Saturday night, I introduced Firefox to Renzo. He got it installed and started browsing. Right away, he noticed that the pages loaded a bit quicker. I also gave him a Gmail invite because he was sick of his POP email account. I showed him that he can add features to Firefox with extensions. I loaded Adblock for him, and showed him a before and after page load that contained a few ads. Finally, I showed him the Quick Search feature to make it easier to find stuff from his favorite sites from the address box. Overall, he was thrilled - success!
Adblock users: use these advanced filters to get the best results. Really. They’re what the developer uses, and they’re not as large as some others I’ve seen (like this one - no offense).
Finally, from the Adblock Project forums, here’s a guide on how to really do a fresh Firefox install.
