IE issues solved, another CSS problem

Regarding the IE6 issue of the title of a single post

Thanks to Pedaflex, a minor change to the navigation class in the CSS file did the trick. Yay!

Unfortunately, it turns out that my CSS isn’t valid. I’m probably going to redo the template again from scratch. At least it wasn’t tweaked too much, and I can implement the change above until Michael releases the next version of Kubrick.

Edit: Thanks to Peter (Pedaflex), he strikes again and figures out that problem as well. What a nice guy!

Kinda back at THG

I replied to a Tom’s Hardware Guide thread in the Windows XP forum - something I haven’t done in a long time. I know we have our own forums here, but they’ve gotten really quiet. I know that one reason is because it’s not a really popular and well-known forum. However, I’m hoping that the other reason is that most everybody in there aren’t really having too many problems lately. (Luckily, I’m not - *knock on wood*) If this is the case, then I might as well help out where I can. (more…)

An extremely tough lesson learned

If you can remember a previous entry “Watch Your Mouth“, I posted a verse. (more…)

Web stuff

Disable Auto-Restart after Windows Update

Google code hides IM secrets

I found this robots.txt file tutorial helpful. I’m running WP for two friends who want to use it to keep their students informed, yet private from the world. Disable all the pingback and trackback settings, and utilize the robots.txt file to accomplish this. Also, for my site, I’ll use it so Google doesn’t index any images I have.

Also, the WP Reference Centre points out that there’s a WP FAQ site now.

IE issues

This site shows fine in Firefox, but I just realized that if you view a single post in IE 6, the post title is all weird. I’ll look into this and get it fixed.

Wow, go Boston!

That was so amazing! Those Red Sox just won being 0-3 in the series. David Ortiz - clutch man…

Another desktop search app

I posted and tried Google Desktop Search last Thursday. It’s okay, but needs more work (of course, it’s beta). I’m hoping they’ll stick with it and see how well they can develop it.

Until then, I think Copernic Desktop Search looks to fit the bill. Talking with Justin, he didn’t want to rely on searching through a web browser. I can go either way, I think. Shortly after our conversation, I found that Copernic released this before Google. (A review by Search Engine Watch)

I’m starting to rely on PDF a bit more, especially since I started using CutePDF. I used to print out stuff for reference, but it’s even nicer to have information on my hard drive so I could just search through them. There’s too much paper clutter as it stands.

Watch your mouth

Proverbs 11:15 (New Living Translation):

Guaranteeing a loan for a stranger is dangerous; it is better to refuse than to suffer later.

This verse is meant for me, to remind me of something I have a problem with. Most of the time, I can’t say “no”. I need to learn.

Griffin iTalk Review

Sorry for the delay, I just edited it as best I could to get it up. Enjoy!

I bought a Griffin iTalk. After using it for a few classes, I felt compelled to write an article on my real-world experiences.
