Nifty Google stuff

A few things were mentioned on Urbnmix.net that caught my eye:

Google Desktop Search (Beta)

Skinning Gmail with a custom stylesheet

I’ll keep an eye on the desktop search utility. However, if someone can get a bluish-type stylesheet for Gmail, I’d love that. The default one right now isn’t that bad, but I simply like blue better. Blue is more…favorite.

Speaking of Google, my site got spidered and cached yesterday and the day before. I take it that whenever I post, it’ll get spidered the following day for sure now. That’s nice to see.

Edit: I guess Google Desktop Search was written about today.

Google Launches Desktop Search Beta (Extremetech)

Google Your Desktop (O’Reilly Network)

I posted a new pic on Urbnmix.net of my new gmail look. If you need the stylesheet just mail me. The images are separate though. I am still working on the overall look of Gmail. Its a bit of trouble if you dont follow the directions but it works fine after every thing is set up.

Thanks Aaron. I’m not into the images too much. I like the one on the persistent.info site, except I’d prefer a bluer shade of course. I didn’t realize there was a CSS file already premade on that site. I might try to give it a shot, although it’s not that high on my priority list. ;)

Ah yes, the persistent.info does have its own stylesheet with little notes in between the CSS so it is a bit easier to modify the script. Well then, good look! Oh, the URI extension for mozilla wont work unless you have the userContent.css in your “CHROME” folder, a reminder; just incase.

Thanks Aaron. If/when I try this out, I’ll keep that in mind. :)
