Hey, I’m new to wordpress, but I have found the best plugin avaiable is ezStatic

I use this, in conjunction with mod-rewrite rules, and I haven’t had any problems config’ing my site to do whatever I want. Have a look - everything under the menu is using the above described..

for example, the onliners is a completley indipendant php script (did I mention you can call WP functions in the php as well!) - then I have a mod-rewrite rule to change index.php?stat=oneliners to /onleliners/

by adding something like this to my .htaccess:
RewriteRule ^oneliners/?$ /index.php?stat=oneliners [QSA]

in ezstatic.php plugin, had to change this;
$qs_key = ’stat’; // (used to be ’static’)
as v1.3 of WP has some junk which grabs the ’static’ before this plugin gets it.. should work fine in 1.2 though.

since I had changed my site so much, I had to fiddle with the regular expressions used in ezstatic.php a bit. It needs to find ‘the loop’ and chop it out of index.php

start playing with it.. you’ll find it’ll help you setup your site however you’d like but keeping WP as the base to it all.

Thanks for that information “mork”!

I’m going to give it a shot right now. I don’t know PHP (pretty much at all), so I won’t need to go into that much depth. I’ll try that ReWrite Rule for my .htaccess file, that’s for sure, cuz I don’t want the pages to be, like, ?static=. I would say I’ll let you know how it goes, but you’ll most likely see it here eventually.
