What’s RSS?
RSS is an easy way for sites to syndicate headlines and links across the Internet.
Edit: To that, I’ll add that you don’t have to visit the complete website for updates (saving time and bandwidth).
Staying with Chris Pirillo, he wrote a CNET article: “Three ways how RSS can make your Web life better“.
I think I’ll cater to RSS more, in terms of how people learn of my site postings. Although I’m fairly pleased with the email filters Gmail has going, and Yahoo had before I stopped using it, RSS is so much simpler.
Need more? This Sitepoint article should do you good, and also Lockergnome’s RSS & Atom Tips section.
I can’t remember the website(s) that cater to people who don’t want to install anything on their computer, but would rather go to a central website that houses all their selected RSS feeds. Please let me know and I’ll edit this. Thanks!
